I am a big fan of mindmapping apps and have tried many. One that stands out for me is iMindmap. In 2006 iMindmap was created by Tony Buzan who is credited with creating the concept of mindmaps. It has just about all the features of other mindmapping tools but also has features that I have not seen in other similar applications like Grafio, MindMeister, and Lucidchart. I have been using this platform for about 3 years and picked it up for professional and personal purposes.
iMindmap can be used to organize thinking and visually connect information in a variety of ways. It has the standard Mindmapping view but also has a variety of views that can be used for different purposes. These views include : Radial map, Brainstorm, Gantt chart, organizational chart, and my favorite, the fast capture view. There is also a presentation view that has a few options including an interesting 3D view (see video below). A great feature is that you can toggle between most of the views and still retain all the information.
I use this tool for all sorts of applications. I use the fast capture view for brainstorming and organizing thoughts when collaborating projects. I often use the mindmap view during my pre-writing phase. I have used the presentation view for synchronous and asynchronous professional development sessions. iMindmap as a stand alone computer application can actually no longer be purchased. It will be changing the name to Aoya and moving to a web-based mobile platform his program. Pricing begins at $10 per month.
This will make this application so much more versatile and I look forward to trying the new iteration. https://www.ayoa.com/imindmap/software/?utm_medium=301&utm_source=imindmap.com
